Lauren Benson got her PhD in Biomechanics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2016.

Until 2020, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary and a member of the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre. She is currently a data scientist for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

Her interests are in using wearable sensors to monitor movement quantity and quality, with the goal of preventing injuries and improving performance.
